We have had plenty of new snow in the Espace Killy and this has definitely improved conditions on piste. Off piste the new snow has meant that the risk of avalanche has gone up and there have been some accidents this week, one of which was fatal.Over in Tignes the pipe has been shaped and there are some pro skiers and snowboarder training. This is the same pipe they use for the X-Games and it is open to anyone who wants to ride it, simply head to the bottom of the Lanches chairlift in Tignes Val Claret and drop in.

I have had a great week riding in Tignes up on the Grande Motte the snow is great but I wouldn't recommend Le Sache, too slushy and icy.

It has been very cold in the Espace Killy and wrapping up well has been essential. This means that the pistes are very hard at the moment but the lower slopes and the south facing runs are softer and there is some great fun to be had.

We had some VERY localised snow falls this week and the Fornet was blessed with a wee bit of powder. Although the rest of the pistes are still very hard they should soften this weekend as we are expecting a rise in temperatures.

We have seen very little change in weather here in the Espace Killy and there is very little change forecast. The pistes are holding up very well considering the lack of snow. There is still plenty of life on and off the hill and Le Folie Deuce is proving to be as popular an apres ski spot as ever especially as the sun is out.

With the holidays in full swing we have welcomed a little smattering of snow and a whole host of apres ski parties, activities and events here in Val d'Isere and Tignes.

We have had between ten and twenty centimetres of fresh snow across the Espace Killy as well as some clear sunny days.

This has saved the pistes from the heavy half term traffic and afforded us some great powder runs up at Le Fornet.

It's been a great week.

We had a fresh snow fall on Sunday and almost half a metre of snow came down in Le Fornet. I skied in a foot of fresh on Le Face on Tuesday and we have been enjoying clear skies for the last few days.

A great week.

Excitement is building for the X-Games which start next week in Tignes. Until then we have mixed forecasts, with a possibility of some fresh new snow here in the Espace Killy.

Although it was a disappointing day for the Brits on the slopestyle course it was a good one for Chas Guldemond who set an X-Games record with 99.33.

Louie Vito took gold on the last night of Winter X-Games Europe in Tignes with a blistering run that included three doubles.

Opening with a "Double-Crippler" and running into a Frontside Double Corked 1080 and a Switch Double Corked 1080 Louie fought off last years winner; Iouri "I-Pod" Podladtchikov.

The European X-Games this year in Tignes pushed the level of Men's Snowboarding forward once again. We can't wait to see what the riders bring to the pipe next year.

The forecasters have been struggling to get the unpredictable weather pinned down in Tignes and Val d'Isere this week and we have had a mixture of sunshine and snow, clear skies and clouds.

The snow is disappearing fast in the Espace Killy and some tactical manoeuvres are required to find the best skiing.
