Bass Station presents Featurecast

Heaving crowds & blinding sets from BassStation & DJ Komissar

This month has seen two offerings from the local’s new favourite night, Bass Station. Monday 16th March saw a serious number of party-goers congregating in the seasonnaires’ favourite after-hours joint, Jack’s, to enjoy the third monthly installment from Bass Station, followed by a special one-off gig in Loop Bar from the amazing duo Dr Syntax & Pete Cannon on Friday 29th.

For the first event, having been hosted on a Tuesday previously, the change of day to a Monday night did nothing to lower the numbers in attendance and Jack’s was once again heaving, this time to the funk and party beats provided by the epic Featurecast.

Providing a blinding party set, Jack’s was at full capacity right until the early hours. DJ Lindo who can normally be found rolling out pure funk at La Queue de Cochon, did a great job of warming the crowd up before Featurecast came on at 1am and sent the masses wild! Finally it was Bass Station hero DJ Kommissar who was entrusted with smashing out the drum ‘n’ bass until closing time for the late night crew with the stamina! All in all, it was once again an event that had everyone talking about for days and talk automatically turned to which act we might be treated to again soon.

Thankfully a surprise gig was announced for the next week and once more, Kommissar managed to provide for the masses the artists and genre’s they so desperately crave, delivering the hip hop legends Dr Syntax & Pete Cannon to Loop Bar on Friday.

With queues outside the door for 20 minutes during the peak of their set, the MC duo whipped the packed crowd in Loop into a drunken frenzy, with plenty of crowd interaction that went down a storm.

With one more massive blow-out event in the pipeline for the week beginning Monday 13th April, it’s advised to buy your tickets early to make sure you don’t miss out! Skitz & Profit will be the duo providing the sounds for the massive end of season blowout, running from 11-4am at Jack’s. Profit & Skitz are sure to have the good vibes flowing with their love of wordplay and reggae tinged bass-driven sets. Buy your tickets at The Marmotte Arms on Rue de la Poste, or online to ensure you make it down for this one last hurrah from Kommissar and the crew this season!
