High-speed ski train from London to the French Alps this winter

Eurostar have just announced that they've put tickets on sale for their popular ski train service for winter 2017-18.

The service operates from London St Pancras via Ashford to three train French stations which give you access to the 3 Valleys, La Plagne & Les Arcs or Tignes & Val d'Isere.

You can take the Friday night overnight service or the Saturday morning service which take around ~11 hours and ~8 hours respectively and then catch a transfer, bus or taxi up to Tignes ski resort.

If you choose to take the Friday night option you'll benefit from an extra couple of days skiing than a normal ski holiday by plane, as you arrive in France early in the morning on the Saturday and leave again late on the following Saturday. The trains don't have sleeper cabins or reclining seats, but what you lack in comfort you gain back in more time on the mountain and cost.

You're allowed to take two pieces of luggage and one item of hand luggage for around £150 per person return for the standard service or around £230 for the premier service. Check in is 1 hour before the train departs to give you time to check in all your bags.

The 2017-18 service runs from 22nd December 2017 to 7th April 2018.
