Families & Kids

You’ll need to book your own childcare, when staying here. There is a great choice of childcare options in Tignes from full-time nanny services to the odd night of babysitting. In addition, during the winter season, many of the ski-schools operate creche services. Booking in advance is always recommended and strongly advised for the school holiday periods.

Ski Hire

Generally, you’re best off choosing somewhere close for ease of access, & less far to carry your kit, easier to make changes, and quicker to return and pay at the end. Nevertheless, many suppliers will deliver and some snow-front rental stores offer ski lockers, so it’s worth checking out all the options.

Instructors & Lessons

When staying here, you’ll need to book  your own ski or snowboard lessons. Tuition is strongly recommended for complete beginners and is always a good idea whatever your level to perfect your technique. Groups are also a generally cheaper option for adults, however, with a private instructor you’ll have undivided attention and be able to progress at your own pace.

Not only do they know the best local spots, these highly trained and experienced individuals are very familiar with the surroundings and can provide loads of insights you won’t get by yourself, as well as helping to ensure your safety.

Reviews

  • "Went with the kids and enjoyed every day of friendly service, excellent cuisine, and a great location. Would recommend to anyone and quite likely to return to Tignes next year mostly because it was such a great place. And some of the best internet access I have ever experienced." - Trip Advisor
  • "Stay at this hotel every year and it is everything a 4 Star hotel should be. Family run and managed. The service ,décor and food is excellent. Worth paying the price for luxury." - Trip Advisor
  • "Stayed here with my wife last week and found it one of the most pleasant holidays we've ever had and one of the best hotels we stayed in. I love Tignes for its scale and being so high, snow secure. This hotel was superb. Very comfortable room, very clean, great shower, useful radiators for drying kit. Great balcony view to the west seeing all of the ski slopes. We had opted for dinner and breakfast, can't fault the food, loved the fondue and Asian nights. Great staff, Anthony looked after us at meals time. The outdoor heated pool, sauna and steam rooms were a great treat after a day on the mountains. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and would most definitely stay here again." - Trip Advisor

Tignes Le Lac has great access to the ski lifts and in the summer you can whizz up the mountain and enjoy a range of walking and hiking routes or the mountain biking trails that Tignes is famous for in the summer time. You can also hop on the free bus service and be at the Grande Motte in Tignes Val Claret for some summer skiing on the glacier in just a few short minutes.
