The Curling is an excellent value Chalet Hotel in classic Tignes style (ie. not so pretty on the outside, but warm and welcoming on the inside!)
It is set in a superb position right in the centre of Tignes-Val Claret and close to the resort’s main pistes and lifts. The Tufs chairlift and ski school meeting point are just 2 minutes’ walk away, and from here you can also ski the short distance to a choice of chairlifts, and the base of the funicular taking you straight up to the 100% guaranteed snow of the Grande Motte glacier. You can ski back on piste to within 200m of the hotel, and guests generally ski along the path right back to the Chalet Hotel door – a welcome bonus at the end of your day’s skiing.
The comfortable bedrooms all have en suite bath with separate wc, plus a balcony with views across Tignes and the spectacular surrounding mountain peaks, and there are triple and quad rooms also available. The hotel has a new owner this year, who is investing to upgrade the style and comfort of both the guest rooms and the public areas, ready to welcome our first Inghams guests.
The cosy dining-room has a large bay window overlooking the centre of Val Claret, and the comfortable lounge area will have its own dedicated bar exclusively for resident guests only. As with their popular Chalet Hotel Les Grangettes in Méribel, the Curling also run a public bar on the lower-ground floor, with its own separate access from the street, and well insulated from the guest bedrooms, which are all two floors or more away from the bar.

- "A great week spent in The Curling. It's really well located for ski in ski out, which we loved. Right in the centre of Val Claret shops, restaurants and lifts. Food was great, good variety, order in advance of the evening and as much wine as you can drink! Staff are very friendly and could not do enough to make sure overall stay was a great experience. Would definitely recommend and we hope to come back again next year again." - Trip Advisor
- "The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were great especially the Duty Manager who went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy! Unlimited free wine with dinner was a nice touch and great quality. The location is fantastic and within a stone's throw of the great skiing in Tignes and Val D's." - Trip Advisor
- "We had a fantastic stay The Curling hotel. The social areas were great and we loved a trip to the TiBar. Great food and service from the staff. We were very lucky with the snow for this time of year as well. Special thanks to Victoria for making our stay so special!" - Trip Advisor
- "The hotel is a bit dated but that didn't detract from a great week's skiing holiday.(clean beds, plenty of hot water etc). Very centrally located for the town and slopes. Free bus access to other areas in the Tignes resort. The young staff really really made an effort. A decent buffet breakfast was on offer. The 4-course evening meal never disappointed. Always a good choice on offer and the staff were always generous with the complimentary wine. No shortage of bars and restaurants nearby." - Trip Advisor
Tignes Le Lac sits just next to the beautiful big Tignes lake. It is made up of an array of high rise appartment blocks and hotels with a few traditional chalets dotted around. One of the best things about Le Lac is its fantastic location to the ski slopes. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes that will welcome you in from the winter cold for lunch, dinner or just a bit of apres ski fun. Although it is not the most picturesque of resorts the excellent slope side location of Tignes Le Lac makes it a popular place to stay and you can choose from a number of apartments, hotels or a few catered chalets to stay in. Tignes Le Lac is a bustling part of the Tignes resort and you are sure to enjoy a winter or summer holiday when staying here.
There are a select few restaurants in Tignes 1800 (Les Boisses) and most of them are located in the hotels, however the new renovations means there will be more of an array of restaurants and bars to enjoy in the evenings.
