Green Gear Guide

by Robin Deering | Skinets Administration | published 28-Jul-2010

 Tignes News

A new product has been launched that offers an innovative way of keeping your MP3, phone, camera or GPS charged while out on the slopes.

Being green on the piste is important and if it means to keeping your phone charged all day then who's to complain?

Portable chargers have all been designed with green power in mind, used to power your handheld bit of electrical gadgetry but the benefits don't stop there; particularly when out skiing:

Green chargers don't require travel adaptors so one less thing to forget when coming to France.

Battery power gets zapped pretty fast in cold conditions - having a constant source of energy means you can go all day (and night) without powering down.

What are your options for portable power?

Solar Chargers
Solar chargers offer a good charge on a sunny day and Power Monkey offer a well suited eXplorer option that integrates a rugged solar panel and battery pack.

Wind Chargers
A good solution for those not so sunny days and works especially well for speed skiers. However there is the issue of where to put it? Unfortunately the wind generator on the helmet look hasn't caught on yet.

Kinetic Chargers
This is the real alternative in alternative energies. A compact charger that creates energy from your movements, sounds perfect to pack away in your pocket and go skiing with!
