Eurostar ski train ticket sales open
by Robin Deering | Skinets Administration | published 14-Jul-2010
Eurostar has opened ticket sales for its direct ski trains to the French Alps.
Yes it's the middle of summer and no the snow hasn't started falling yet but we're all secretly thinking about the winter.
Eurostar’s sell out services direct to the heart of the French Alps will be offering two direct ski trains a week, stopping at Moutiers, Aime la Plagne and Bourg St Maurice.
There is an overnight service which departs on Friday night, arriving early Saturday morning and gives an extra two days on the slopes. Alternatively the day service is popular with those who like to take in the views, departing from London Waterloo on Saturday morning and arriving at Bourg St Maurice early evening.
Arriving high in the Alps this means a speedy transfer to resort. Furthermore an extra item of luggage on top of the normal luggage allowance (a pair of skis or a snowboard) – can be taken onboard at no extra cost and without the need to wait at airport baggage reclaim.
Prices start from £179 for a return trip at Eurostar.com
