Cold de l'Iseran for cyclists only
by Robin Deering | Skinets Administration | published 8-Jul-2010
For one day only the col de l'Iseran will be closed to cars and open only for cyclists.
This Sunday 11th July sees the second L'Iserane Puissance event and after last years' success - they have decided to close both sides of the col off. This means one long (and high) cycle path from Val d'Isere all the way to Bonneval sur Arc.
The climb up is over 900 metres each side however the event is not a race against the clock but more an opportunity for everyone to be able to explore the infamous route up to the highest col in Europe (2770 metres high).
So leave your cycle computer at home, fill your water bottle and join up for free on the day - what's more anyone signing up gets free access to the Val d'Isere sports centre.
Event opens at 8.30 at the Tourist Office and first descents from 10.00
