Tignes Maps & Timetables

These maps of Tignes allow you to orientate yourself when you arrive in resort; they show the layout of the region and the local amenitites.

Tignes is made up of a number of small hamlets, each with its own local pistes all connected by the lift network. There is plenty here to keep you busy, but you can always venture further afield into the Espace Killy should you wish! The Espace Killy piste map shows the pistes and ski areas of both Val d'Isere and Tignes, and gives you a broad picture of how everything is linked. There's a whole load of skiing to be done in the Espace Killy area! For a more detailed map when you get on the mountain, pick up a paper copy of the piste maps from the lift company when you buy your pass.

Chambéry (142km) is the closest airport to Tignes, followed by Geneva (200km) and Lyon Saint-Exupéry (220km).  There are bus links from all airports, please see below for details.  To read more about getting from your chosen airport to resort please read Travelling Between the Airport & Tignes.

Tignes is committed to preserving the countryside and improving the air quality, and is proud that is has reduced the volume of car traffic in resort. Tignes operates a bus service that is FREE of charge and runs from Le Lavachet to Val Claret 24 hours a day.

Le Lavachet-Grande Motte A continuous bus service operates from 08.30 to 20.30, with buses every 30 minutes from 06.30 to 08.30 and 20.30 p.m. to 00.00, then hourly from 12.30 to 06.00

Les Boisses-Tignes le Lac Buses run every 30 minutes between 08.00 and 18.30 and then at 20.45 & 22.15, every evening except Saturday. Return buses from Le Lac depart at 20.30, 22.00 & midnight (except Sat).

Bourg St. Maurice Train Station is 30km / 20miles from Tignes. Numerous trains (TGV, Eurostar etc) frequently arrive in Bourg St Maurice throughout the winter. Bus services run regularly from Bourg St. Maurice to Tignes and take about 1 hour. Alternatively, you can take a local taxi (approximate cost €80).

Tignes has a network of 24 bus stops from Les Boisses to La Grand Motte, ensuring that you should never have too far to go from your accommodation to make use of the resorts efficient free bus service. You will find the bus timetables posted on each bus stop and don't forget that pedestrians can travel for free between Brevieres and Les Boisses via the Brevieres chairlift.
