Summer Skiing in Tignes Despite the Bad Weather

featured in News & reviews Author Ellie Mahoney, Tignes Editor Updated

Despite pretty average weather for July so far, skiers, snowboarders and ski clubs have still been enjoying the Grande Motte glacier for a spot of summer skiing.

The glacier has been open since the 21st of June and will remain open (weather conditions permitting) until 3rd August.

Various ski clubs come to Tignes to get their summer training under way, as well as cross country skiers, freestyle skiers and boarders making use of the rails and other park features.

Although the ski area may close on 3rd August, pedestrian access is still possible until the 30th, and there are a handful of mountain guides offering glacier walks if you want to participate.
